The short version
- The organiser runs the event and sells you the ticket. AdmitMe runs the ticketing for them.
- The price you see before you pay is the total you pay, including GST and every fee you cannot avoid.
- If the event is cancelled you get a refund. If it is moved or materially changed, you can choose a refund instead of going.
- Reselling a ticket for more than the law allows, or buying with bots, is not allowed and can be an offence.
- Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Who is who
AdmitMe is run by Artefact Group Pty Ltd (ACN 661 296 715) of Brisbane, Queensland (“AdmitMe”, “we” or “us”). The person or organisation running the event is the organiser. The organiser’s name is shown on the event page, in your confirmation email and on your ticket.
When you buy a ticket, your contract for the event is with the organiser. AdmitMe provides the ticket shop, payment page, tickets, wallet passes and check-in on the organiser’s behalf, and acts as the organiser’s agent to issue your ticket. The organiser is responsible for the event itself: what happens on the day, the venue, the program and any change or cancellation.
These terms apply to paid tickets, free registrations, guest list passes, accreditation, exhibitor and contractor passes and site inductions issued through AdmitMe (together, “tickets”). They apply together with:
- the organiser’s own conditions of entry, refund policy and event rules, shown on the event page or linked at checkout;
- the venue’s rules; and
- our privacy policy.
If the organiser’s conditions conflict with these terms, the organiser’s conditions apply to the event, except where they would reduce your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights always apply.
Prices and fees
- The organiser sets ticket prices. Prices are shown in the currency on the event page.
- The total shown before you pay includes GST (where it applies) and every mandatory fee, such as a booking or service fee. We do not add fees after you pay.
- Optional extras, such as merchandise, parking or a donation, are shown separately and are only charged if you choose them.
- A card surcharge, if the organiser applies one, is shown before you pay and is no more than the cost of accepting that card.
- Prices can change before you buy, for example when an early-bird release ends. Once you have paid, your price does not change.
Buying a ticket
- Tickets you choose are held for a short time while you check out. If the time runs out, they are released.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. AdmitMe never sees or stores your card number. Your bank statement may show the organiser’s name.
- Your order is confirmed when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email with your ticket. If you do not receive it, check your junk folder, then use our support form.
- The organiser may limit how many tickets one person can buy. Orders that break the limit, use false details or are made with automated software may be cancelled and refunded.
- Check your order before you pay. Choosing the wrong date, session or ticket type is not, on its own, a reason for a refund, but ask the organiser: many will help.
Your ticket
- Your ticket has a QR code. One scan admits one person once, unless the ticket says it allows re-entry.
- Keep your ticket private. Anyone holding a copy of the code may be admitted ahead of you, and a code that has already been scanned will not work again.
- Where the organiser makes tickets personal to a named holder, the name must match the person attending, photo ID may be checked, and screenshots or forwarded passes may be refused.
- You can usually update the holder’s name from the link in your confirmation email, if the organiser allows it.
- A ticket is a licence to attend. It stays subject to these terms and the organiser’s conditions, and can be cancelled for a serious breach of them.
Cancelled, moved or changed events
- Cancelled. If an event is cancelled and not rescheduled, you are entitled to a refund of the ticket price and any fees you paid.
- Rescheduled or relocated. If the date, time or venue changes, your ticket is valid for the new date or venue. If you cannot or do not want to attend the changed event, you can ask for a refund within the period the organiser announces, which will be at least 7 days from the announcement.
- Materially changed. If something important to the event changes, such as a headline act or a major part of the program, you can ask for a refund in the same way.
- Postponed with no new date yet. Your ticket stays valid. You can ask for a refund if no new date is announced within a reasonable time.
The organiser tells ticket holders about changes by email, using the address on the order, so please keep it current.
Refunds
- You are always entitled to a refund where the Australian Consumer Law gives you one, including when the event is cancelled or significantly different from what was described.
- Beyond that, refunds for a change of mind depend on the organiser’s refund policy, shown on the event page or at checkout. Some organisers allow refunds or transfers up to a set date; some do not offer change-of-mind refunds.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within 5 to 10 business days after they are processed.
- The organiser holds the ticket money and is responsible for refunds. Ask the organiser first. If they do not respond, use our support form and we will help, including by processing the refund on the organiser’s behalf where we are able to.
Transfers and resale
- You may give or transfer your ticket to someone else only if the organiser allows it. Where transfer is allowed, change the holder’s name so the ticket is valid.
- You must not resell a ticket for more than the original price plus any amount the law allows. In most Australian states and territories, reselling above the original price by more than 10% is prohibited, either for all events or for declared major events and venues. Examples include the Fair Trading Act 1987 (NSW), the Major Events Act 2009 (Vic), the Major Events Act 2014 (Qld), the Fair Trading Act 1987 (SA) and the Ticket Scalping Act 2021 (WA).
- You must not resell a ticket where the organiser’s conditions prohibit resale, or advertise a ticket for resale without the details the law requires.
- You must not use bots or other software to get around purchase limits or queues. This is an offence in several states.
- A ticket resold or obtained in breach of these rules may be cancelled without a refund, to the extent the law allows. Buy only from the organiser or their authorised resale channel.
Entry and conduct
- Entry is subject to the organiser’s and venue’s conditions, such as age limits, dress codes, bag checks, prohibited items, health and safety requirements and photo ID.
- The organiser or venue may refuse entry to, or remove, anyone who is intoxicated, unsafe, breaks the law or the event’s conditions. Where this happens because of your conduct, you are not entitled to a refund unless the law says otherwise.
- For site inductions and accreditation, a pass can be withdrawn if you breach the safety briefing or site rules.
- Events may be filmed or photographed. The organiser’s conditions explain how footage is used.
- If you need accessible seating, a companion ticket or other access support, ask the organiser before the event.
Your information
We collect your details to issue your ticket and run entry for the organiser, who decides what is asked and how it is used. Our privacy policy explains this. We and the organiser only send you marketing if you agree to it, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Event updates, such as changes and cancellations, are not marketing and are sent to every ticket holder.
Our responsibility
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees or any other right you have under law.
Subject to that, AdmitMe is responsible for the ticketing service we provide: taking your order, issuing your ticket and running check-in. The organiser is responsible for the event. We are not responsible for loss caused by the organiser, the venue or another attendee, except to the extent we caused or contributed to it.
Questions and complaints
For anything about the event itself, contact the organiser first. Their details are on the event page and in your confirmation email. For anything about your ticket, your order or how AdmitMe works, use our support form. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
If you are not satisfied, you can contact the fair trading or consumer affairs agency in your state or territory.
General
- These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland. If you are a consumer, the consumer protection laws of your own state or territory also apply.
- We may update these terms. The version shown when you placed your order applies to that order.
- If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
